On Saturday, January 14th, Adalia Tara and Summer Cygal will be joining forces for an unforgettable night of original music. Making they’re return debut in Sedona, both singer-songwriters are excited to perform again in their hometown. Singing solo, as well as collaborating on some pieces, they will also be playing some inspired renditions of their favorite songs. Adalia Tara and Summer Cygal met many years ago when they we’re both young musicians in town, but this is the first time they will be sharing the stage. Accompanying their diverse vocals with both piano and guitar, the night will be intimate sharing of the creativity and passion both of these young women possess.
Adalia Tara bears her whole heart when she performs. Her style is distinct and versatile, from resonating, deep, bluesy lows to sweet, ethereal highs, her voice commands the space. Her evocative lyrics are at the center of her soulful sound, offering insight into her personal truths and aspirations. Her writing style has been influenced by classic artists such as John Lennon, Neil Young, and Billy Holiday, to more modern artist like Radiohead and Feist. No matter where her musical journey may take her, Adalia Tara’s intention and motivation
for creating music has been unchanging. She hopes to bring benefit to others, to inspire, to encourage positive change, and to convey messages of hope and compassion. Music is her heart and offering, it’s how she gives back. For her, it is a part of her spiritual path that is ever unfolding.
Summer Cygal’s music and writing style has been greatly influenced by Patty Griffin, Linda Ronstadt, Tom Petty and Edie Brickell. “These artist become like your best friends. Close to you like family, you start to know them so well, you respect them, you strive to be like them, they hold a standard that you wish to someday reach”. With the help of these artists, Summer has found her own folky, and at times, feisty writing and piano style. She weaves in her bold, passionate and haunting vocals, giving her audience a look and listen into her most intimate and important world, her love of music. Her performances have been described as emotional, raw and stripped down. Music is a big part of what keeps her inspired and centered. Summer’s ultimate goal is to share her love and appreciation of music with all of those who feel drawn to listen. She hopes to spread light and love one song at a time.
