The theater improv exercises in this playshop were designed for actors to search within themselves for the eternal truths (about their emotions, their values, and their characters) that would allow them to portray strangers with honesty. For the lay person, practicing expressing these truths emboldens us to allow them to come forth more naturally more often, for more authentic living. Marieve Shalome Trueth, (‘True’), studied Acting, Movement and Voice at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle WA and Writing and Directing at The Art Institute of Seattle. Our Voices Are Alive is a grassroots movement providing workshops and events for the creative self-expression of women in Northern Arizona.
For more than 45 years, Bill Staines has been the quintessential folk troubadour, singing his songs at the country’s top festivals, concerts, clubs and coffeehouses. Playing 200+ dates a year and driving over 65,000 miles annually, his music is a slice of Americana, filled with cowboys, Yukon adventures, fisherman and everyday working people.
The biggest, most energetic poetry event to hit Northern Arizona is coming to the Mary D. Fisher Theatre. The top 12 slam poets from Sedona, Prescott, Flagstaff and Phoenix will compete in three rounds in front five judges randomly selected from the audience who assign numerical value to individual performances. At the end of the night, the top four poets will represent Sedona at the weeklong National Poetry Slam in Boston and Cambridge, Mass., in August.
You may not be familiar with Cheryl, but you have probably heard her music. She is very respected as a songwriter by her peers, which can be seen by how many of them record her songs. Chery's songs have been covered by artists as diverse as Dan Seals, Peter Paul and Mary, Kenny Loggins, Garth Brooks, Suzy Boggus, Melanie, Bette Midler, Maura O'Connell, Sylvia, Kathy Mattea, and Holly Near. If they think she is great, then you owe it to yourself to learn more if you aren't familiar with her.
Chanteuse/songwriter Jessica Fichot is a lot like her hometown of Paris: French at heart, but with a soul that's truly international. Her music fuses styles & languages, taking the listener on a twisting journey out of the French chanson tradition, into the lands of gypsy jazz, Chinese & Latin American folk music, & into the wilderness of her imagination.
Vincent Z is a well-traveled French “saltimbanque” singing, whistling and playing on the guitar traditional melodies and rhythms from around the world.

DanceSpirit was founded by Danielle Claire in Sedona in 1993. Originally trained as a professional dancer in New York City, Claire has performed in numerous productions including Cats on Broadway before turning her creative focus to teaching. Her instruction style empowers students to develop personal creative energy through dance while keeping a strict focus on technique.

The Bresnan Blues band performs rock-inspired blues music with influences ranging from traditional blues, 50’s rock and roll, jazz, and classic rock. The band presents original material, traditional blues classics with a fresh perspective, and blues-ified songs pulled from other genres. The Bresnan Blues band brings together some of the most accomplished musicians in Northern Arizona and features Dan Bresnan on Guitar, Hutch Hutchinson on Bass, and Gino Romeo on drums.
